Blues at Wild 11/2/19 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The defending Stanley Cup champions have started to look like they are playing among the elite again. Granted, the Blues have only managed to find their way back to 3rd place in the Central, but it is definitely a move in the right direction. The last game on the ice for the Blues was a 2-1 victory over the Wild, but the Blues do play the Blue Jackets on Friday and that could upset the Blues balance to a point.

On the year so far the Blues have ended up scoring at a clip of 3 goals a game. The defense for the Blues is giving up 3 goals a game. However, the Blues have converted on the power play at 23.8%, but have killed off 82.5% of the opponents power plays.

The Wild recently lost to Saint Louis on the road and now get to play the Blues at home. However, the Wild are a team that has had a wild year so far. The good news for the Wild is after the recent loss to the Blues the Wild did have a day off and that should allow them the time needed to get ready for the rematch on Saturday.

Offensively the Wild have returned to the horrible form of 2.31 goals a game being scored. The defense for the Wild is giving up 3.46 goals a game. When it comes to the power play the Wild have converted at a clip of 17.8% on the year with the penalty kill sitting at a nice 81%.

The Wild have had quite a few struggles on the year and the Wild defense is suffering from the lack of offense. Look for that to continue to be an issue for the Wild in this game as the Blues have already beaten the Wild and while the Blues are coming in for the second half of a back to back game it is not a long trip and the Blues are facing a very weak Blue Jackets team. Final Score Prediction, Saint Louis Blues win 3-1.
