The Avalanche managed to level the series they were playing against the Sharks by winning a great game on Thursday night. However, the game was one that did not have the same type of assurances that the team would have liked to have had as they had to battle to keep the lead and lock down the game for the 3-0 win. What is really bad for the Sharks, is the fact that they did look very tired and played a very flat game compared to what they had been playing before and that cost the Sharks in the game and could end up costing them the series here as the Sharks are playing tired and flat in the past few games. Martin Jones was in the net for the Sharks and he played a decent game, but still allowed 2 goals to get by him as the Avalanche ended up scoring an empty netter at the end of the game. When Jones was in the net he faced a total of 27 shots on the day and ended up turning 25 of those shots away, 3 of those were shorthanded shots and 1 was a power play shot.

Philipp Grubauer was the goalie for the Avalanche and he played some great hockey on the day. He faced a total of 32 shots in the game and he turned away each one of those to guarantee the shut out win. What else helped out the Avalanche is the fact the defense was able to support Grubauer and blocked some of the shots that were heading towards him as well.

The Avalanche are heading back to San Jose with the season evened up. However, the Avalanche are going to have to play an amazing game on the road, but with the fatigue factor weighing heavily on the Sharks it could be quite a bit easier than what the Avalanche were expecting. Look for the Sharks to come into this game and help Jones out some, but still fall short as the offense struggles with the fatigue issues. Final Score Prediction, Colorado Avalanche win 4-2.
