Avalanche at Canucks 11/16/19 - NHL Picks & Predictions

A look at Colorado's results show that the team has won and lost in bunches thus far. The Avalanche sit in second place in the Central Division and have seen win streaks of five and three games, as well as a losing streak of five.

Colorado comes into Saturday having won three of the last four while averaging just under five goals during that stretch. The Avalanche are tied for first in the Western Conference with 68 goals scored on the season. They have been led by sixth-year center Nathan MacKinnon, who has registered 11 goals and 15 assists on the season. MacKinnon has scored two points in seven times this season, including on Tuesday against Edmonton, when he scored a pair of goals and had two helpers in a 4-0 win.

Vancouver's overall record is good enough for third in the Pacific Division, but the Canucks have fallen in five of their last six games. For a team that ranks fourth in the Western Conference in goals scored, the offense has really slowed down. In their last six matches, the Canucks have netted an average of just two goals per game.

The 2017 fifth overall pick Elias Pettersson has been prolific for the Vancouver offense this season. He has scored eight goals and assisted on 16 others. Pettersson had a great rookie campaign with 28 goals and 38 assists, and he is on track to do much better than that this season, particularly in the assists category.

The Canucks have struggled on the year recently and that is going to present a problem for the Canucks in this game here. What else is going to be problematic for the Canucks is the fact that the Avalanche have been able to play great lately and have managed to win a lot of the games the Avs have played lately. Final Score Prediction, Colorado Avalanche win 5-2.
