The Avalanche in their last game on the ice was able to crush the Ottawa Senators by a 4-1 score in the game. The win allowed the Avalanche to move up to second in the Central Division. The win also allowed the Avalanche to improve to 30-16-6 record on the season.

This year Colorado has managed to get an offensive showing on the year with 3.69 goals a game. The defense for Colorado has not been that bad with 2.92 goals a game allowed. The Avalanche have converted on the power play at a clip of 18.9% on the season while killing off 79.4% of the power plays.

The Blue Jackets get to play in back to back games here. The Columbus team has bounced back from their horrible start. The Blue Jackets do play the Red Wings on Friday night, but the game before that the Red Wings posted a 1-0 win over the Florida Panthers. When it comes to their overall record the Blue Jackets have posted a 29-16-9 record on the year.

With the offense the Blue Jackets have ended up getting only 2.67 goals a game. Defensively the Blue Jackets has improved to the point of giving up only 2.46 goals a game. The power play for the Blue Jackets is converting at a decent 17.1% on the year and the penalty kill has really improved killing off 82.4% of the power plays.

The Avalanche are playing on the road and that will hurt the Avs to a point. However, Colorado has a better offense in the game here and that will overcome the staunch Blue Jackets defense in the game here. The Blue Jackets offense, while it has improved has not improved enough to overcome the Avalanche defense. Final Score Prediction, Colorado Avalanche win 4-2.
