Pittsburgh for their part finished the preseason on a high note by getting a win over Buffalo. The win over the Sabres came by a score of 7-1 on the day. That win allowed Buffalo end up with a record of 3-3-0.

Tristan Jarry was able to play decent last year. On the year Jarry finished with a record of 34-18-6 on the year and looked very impressive. When it came to the goals against Jarry allowed only 2.42 goals per game and turned away 91.9% of the shots.
