The Western Conference is one that played really well, but was also one division that was bunched up in the points totals. That will continue in the season here and that will definitely make it harder to challenge for the Stanley Cup this year as the Central Division sees all the teams coming into the playoffs this year.

The Saint Louis Blues at the time of the pause were sitting on top of the Central Division. The Blues had a total of 94 points on the year. When it comes to the goal scoring the Blues had ended up getting 225 goals and allowed only 193 goals.

The Colorado Avalanche are coming into the revamped playoffs and are sitting in second place in the Central Division. The Avs ended the year with a total of92 points. When it comes to scoring goals the Avalanche managed to get 237 goals while allowing 191 goals.

The Dallas Stars are one team that had been bouncing all over the place when it comes to the end of the year. The Stars ended up getting in third in the Central Division with a total of 82 points. Goal scoring for the Stars was done to the tune of 180 goals, but the team had a great defense that allowed only 177 goals.

Winnipeg is one team that gave the Stars a run for their money. The Winnipeg Jets ended up finishing the season in 4th place with a total of 80 points. When it comes to the goal scoring the Jets ended up getting 216 goals, but allowed 203 goals which was not the best defense.

Nashville is coming into the playoff picture with luck riding on their side. The Predators barely made the playoffs with a total of 78 points. When it comes to the goal scoring the Predators managed to get a total of 215 goals, but the defense allowed 217 goals which was a little bit of a shocker.

The Minnesota Wild are looking to be a lucky team as well with the expanded playoffs they managed to make the playoffs with a total of 77 points. The Wild ended up getting a total of 220 goals, but unlike some of their future opponents the Wild allowed 220 goals.

Chicago is one of the luckiest teams possible in the NHL as the Blackhawks made the playoffs with 72 points and were the last team in the Western Conference to make the playoffs. The Blackhawks offense ended up scoring 212 goals, but allowed 218 goals to be scored against them.
