The Devils were one of the few teams that did not make the playoffs. However, what is really interesting is the fact that the Devils made so many moves in the off season last year to help in getting back to being competitive that they were not able to make the playoffs. The time off, though, should allow the Devils to get the teamwork back together and playing great.

Leading the overall point scoring for the Devils has been the job of Kyle Palmieri who has ended up getting 45 points total. Palmieri also leads the Devils with a total of 25 goals on the year. When it comes to the passing game the Devils were able to rely on Nikita Gusev who managed to get a total of 31 assist on the year.

Keeping the net protected for the Devils for the most part was the job of Mackenzie Blackwood who played in 47 games. He ended up posting a 22-14-8 record while allowing only 2.77 goals a game. When it comes to the save percentage Blackwood ended up saving 91.5% of the shots. After Blackwood the protection really dropped off, but the Devils did trade to get Louis Domingue. He played in 16 games total with a 3-8-2 record. Domingue allowed 3.79 goals a game, but saved 88.2% of the shots.

The talent that New Jersey brought in last year did not really show up. Some of that could be from the lack of training together, but the Devils should have plenty of time during the off season to get the players on the same page. If the Devils can do that they will be able to improve quite a bit.
