2020 Detroit Red Wings Recap - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Red Wings were horrible all year long and were one team that probably welcomed the early end to the season. With the early end the Red Wings should have time to work on some of the issues that the team had during the regular season. No matter what, the Red Wings season was a disappointment and one that the team most likely would like to readdress.

The points leader for the offensive side of the puck for the Red Wings was Dylan Larkin who managed to get 53 points total for the team. However, one thing that the Red Wings have in Larkin is a player who was able to lead in assist as well with 34 assist on the year. The goals leader at the end of the year for Detroit was Tyler Bertuzzi who ended up finding the back of the net 21 times.

Detroit carried a couple of goalies for most of the year that were able to come into the game and really start. However, only one of the goalies had any measure of success. The goalie that was more of a success for the Red Wings was Jonathan Bernier who played in 46 games and managed to get a 15-22-3 record while allowing only 2.95 goals a game. Bernier also saved 90.7% of the shots that were sent towards him.

The other goalie that did not really do well for the Red Wings was the older starter that was coming in as the starter in 2019. That was Jimmy Howard who played in 27 games. Howard ended up posting a dismal 2-23-2 record, but allowed a horrible 4.20 goals a game and saved only 88.2% of the shots that were sent towards him.
