Week 8 – NFL Monday Prop Bets – 10/31/22

It’s an all-Ohio matchup for Monday Night Football this week as the Browns host the Bengals on Halloween. Cincinnati has won two straight games and would pull back even with Baltimore for the AFC North lead with a win but has lost its top receiver for at least a month. Cleveland has lost four in a row after starting the season 2-1, but four of the five losses have been by three points or less and the Browns have continued to rack up the yards on offense.

David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert came up big for the Bears, and for us, in Week 7. Montgomery got the touchdown and Herbert had nearly double the rushing yards needed to get us two prop pick wins. We’re going with a pair of running backs again this week, one from each team.

NFL Week 8 Player Props for Bengals at Browns — 10/31/22

Nick Chubb, RB, Browns, OVER 80.5 rushing yards (-115)

Joe Mixon, RB, Bengals, OVER 63.5 rushing yards (-114)

Nick Chubb

After two straight games below 100 yards, including a 12-carry, 56-yard performance in Week 6 against New England, the league’s leading rusher should find plenty of room to run this week against the Bengals. Cincinnati’s defense has allowed an average 163.3 rushing in its last three games, fifth-most in the league.

Chubb rebounded from his worst game of the season in Week 6 by running the ball 16 times for 91 and a touchdown in Week 7 against Baltimore. In the first five weeks of the season, he ran for more than 115 yards in all but one game. In a 31-30 loss to the Jets in Week 2, Chubb ran 17 times for 87 yards and three touchdowns.

With the Bengals struggling to stop opponents’ running games of late, we see a big day ahead for Chubb and expect him rush for well over 81 yards.

Pick: Nick Chubb OVER 80.5 rushing yards

Joe Mixon

Mixon has yet to have 100 or more rushing yards in a game this season, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry and 57.9 total yards on the ground each week. Cleveland has allowed the ninth-most rushing yards per game this season at 135.6 but has given up 165.3 per game over the last three.

He ran 17 times for just 58 yards against the Falcons in Week 7 but averaged 5.5 yards per carry in Weeks 5 and 6. Mixon had just eight carries against the Saints but totaled 45 yards in Week 6 after running 14 times for 78 against the Ravens in Week 5. His best game of the season was in Week 1 against the Steelers when he had 27 rushes for 82 yards.

Without Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals should look to take advantage of the Browns inability to stop the run of late. Mixon may still not run for 100-plus in this game, but getting at least 64 yards is well within his abilities.

Pick: Joe Mixon OVER 63.5 rushing yards
