Week 7 – NFL Monday Prop Bets – 10/24/22

If this was 1985, Monday night’s pairing of the Bears and Patriots would be must-see TV. Instead, Chicago is scoring just 15.5 points a game, second fewest in the NFL, and New England’s offense has a bunch of injuries. Both defenses allow less than 20 points a game, too, so don’t expect many fireworks. What both teams do well is run the ball. The Patriots have too many unknowns right now, so we’ll focus on the Bears’ backfield this week. Read on below for those picks.

We sure chose a bad time to count on the Broncos passing attack in Week 6. Russell Wilson completed just 15 passes for 188 yards, and only two of those completions were to Courtland Sutton for just 14 yards.

NFL Week 7 Player Props for Bears at Patriots — 10/24/22

David Montgomery, RB, Bears, to score a touchdown (+185)

Khalil Herbert, RB, Bears, OVER 31.5 rushing yards (-115)

David Montgomery

Montgomery averaged 0.6 touchdowns a game over the last two seasons, but he’s scored just once in five games this year. His 16 rushes for 67 yards in Week 6 was his second-best game this season. It's a good sign that he's back to normal after an injury, but he didn’t hit paydirt.

Montgomery’s backfield mate Kahlil Herbert has 63 carries and three rushing TDs this season and QB Justin Fields has 54 carries and one scoring run. It’s only a matter of time before Montgomery, who has 62 carries, gets his second TD of the season. We think it comes Monday against the Patriots.

Pick: David Montgomery to score a touchdown

Khalil Herbert

Herbert’s carries are down with Montgomery back at full strength, but Herbert doesn’t need many touches to rack up the yards as he’s proven in several games this season. He had 74 yards on seven runs, including a 63-yarder last week. He had nine carries for 45 yards to start the season in Week 1 and four rushes for 38 yards the following game.

Five carries at his season average of 6.4 yards per rush puts Herbert just over 31.5 yards this week. He likely gets seven to 10 carries, which should put him easily beyond 31.5 yards. We wouldn't be surprised if Herbert breaks off another long run this week to go well beyond 32 rushing yards.

Pick: Khalil Herbert OVER 31.5 rushing yards
