Week 5 – NFL Monday Prop Bets – 10/10/22

Monday Night Football is in Kansas City this week for an AFC West clash between the Chiefs and Raiders. There should be plenty of offense in this one. We like a couple of receiving props this week after going 1-1 with rushing picks in Week 4. Read on below for those picks.

Check back early next week for our two best NFL prop bets in the Thursday game. Later in the week there will be five picks for Sunday and two more for Monday. All of our free NFL picks can be found weekly on the NFL Picks & Predictions page.

NFL Week 5 Player Props for Monday — 10/10/22

Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs, OVER 70.5 receiving yards (-115)

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Chiefs, OVER 41.5 receiving yards (-115)

Travis Kelce

Kelce leads the Chiefs in receptions (26), targets (34) and receiving yards (322) with two games of 90-plus yards bookending two of under 60 yards. He caught 9-of-10 targets for 92 yards last week at Tampa Bay and 8-of-9 for 121 at Arizona in Week 1. The Chargers held him to 5-of-7 for 51 yards in Week 2 followed by a 4-of-8 for 58 yards game against the Colts. Kelce is averaging 12.4 yards per reception, so six catches should get him past 70.5.

The Chiefs and Raiders played twice in four weeks last season, and the games were complete opposites of each other statistically for Kelce and Kansas City. In Week 10, Kelce had 12 targets and eight receptions for 119 yards as the Chiefs racked up 422 passing yards and threw the ball 51 times enroute to a 41-14 victory. In Week 14, the Chiefs won, 48-9, but attempted just 24 passes with 20 completed. Kelce caught 3-of-4 targets for just 27 yards as Kansas City too a big lead early. As long as the Raiders don’t give up 35 unanswered points again to start the game, Kelce should see plenty of action and easily get 71-plus yards.

Pick: Travis Kelce OVER 70.5 receiving yards (-115)

Marquez Valdes-Scantling

New to the Chiefs prolific aerial attack this season, Valdes-Scantling has performed well in catching 13-of-23 targets for 168 yards. After hauling in 3-of-5 targets for 63 yards against the Buccaneers in Week 4, he now has three games of 44 or more receiving yards. In Week 1, he was 4-for-4 for 44 yards, and he caught 4-of-7 for 48 in Week 3. Week 2 at home against the Chargers was a real stinker of an outing in which he only caught two of his seven targets for a measly 13 yards.

Valdes-Scantling has bounced back well from that poor showing against the Chargers in Week 2. He has the highest snap count of Kansas City wideouts and is third overall behind just QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce. The Raiders have allowed the fifth-most yards per pass attempt this season, at 7.5, and have intercepted just two passes. This Las Vegas pass defense is not one Mahomes and coach Andy Reed should have any trouble navigating, and that means lots of targets for the new No. 1 wide receiver in Kansas City.

Pick: Marquez Valdes-Scantling OVER 41.5 receiving yards
