Washington Redskins 2019 Season Preview - NFL Picks & Predictions

The Washington Redskins enter the 2019 season, looking to rebuild around a young quarterback in a tough NFC East Division. The Redskins signed veteran QB Case Keenum to run the offense to start the season, but it will not take long for number 15 overall pick Dwayne Haskins to take the field. Washington has the luxury of having a solid offensive line to protect Haskins, when he is ready to play.

Veteran RB Adrian Peterson and second year pro Derrius Guice give the Redskins a solid duo of running backs. However, the wide receiver is terribly below average. TE Jordan Reed is talented, but cannot seem to stay healthy.

While the Washington offense figures to struggle, the defensive unit is good enough to keep them in games. The defensive line is the strength, with former Alabama players Jonathan Allen and Da’Ron Payne wreaking havoc in the opponent’s backfield. DE Ryan Kerrigan is the top rush guy and is coming off a 13-sack season.

The secondary has a chance to be stellar for Washington, with talented CB Josh Norman shutting down the top receiver on the other side. The Redskins managed to pry S Landon Collins away from division rival New York and he is expected to make an immediate impact.

Washington has a difficult five-game stretch to start their season and could find things very difficult as Haskins learns under fire. There is no reason to believe that the Redskins will finish with more than six wins. Take the under. Final Season Prediction, Washington Redskins Under 6 Wins.
