The Washington Football Team travel on the road to Metlife Field to take on the winless New York Giants. The Giants put together a solid game against the Cowboys but eventually fell 37-34 and dropped their 6th straight game dating back to last season. Washington wasn dominated for all four quarters against the Rams, falling 30-10 there fourth straight loss by 14+ points and dropped to 1-4 on the year.

Washington decided to bench Dwayne Haskins in the matchup against the Rams after struggling all season long and have been given every chance in the world. Haskins has completed just 61% of his passes and thrown for 939 yards for 4 touchdowns but has thrown 3 interceptions. Washington will now turn to Kyle Allen who completed 9 of 13 passes for 74 yards before leaving the Rams game with injury.

The Washington rushing attack is led by Antonio Gibson but he’s averaging just 42 yards per game and has rushed in three touchdowns. Washington has been one of the worst teams offensively in this 2020 season averaging just 17.8 points per game and totalling 291.4 yards per game which ranks last in the NFL in total offense.

The Giants have similarly been unable to get anything going in 2020, led by second year quarterback Daniel Jones the Giants have been unable to generate any sort of rushing attack behind a bad offensive line. Averaging just 3.8 yards per carry as a team, Jones isn’t talented enough to handle the load offensively in the pass game. Danny Dimes is completing just 61% of his passes for 1,111 yards and thrown two touchdowns while throwing 5 interceptions.

New York ranks second to last in the NFL in scoring and total offense averaging just 16.2 points per game and averaging 282.4 total yards per game.

Both Washington and New York have gotten off to brutal starts to the season and although there offense has struggled, neither teams defense has been anything better than average. Washington is 22nd in scoring defense allowing 28.4 points per game and allowing 356.4 total yards per game. The Giants are allowing 26.6 points per game ranking 19th in scoring defense and allowing 343 yards per game this year.

Washington is now tasked with replacing the struggling Dwayne Haskins to an already rough start to the season. Both of these teams are two of the worst in the NFL and neither has been able to get anything going on the offensive side of the ball. The Redskins defensive line should be back at full strength after injuries early on this year and facing one of the worst offensive lines in football with a turnover prone quarterback, they should have a field day on defense. Washington averages 3 sacks per game which is tied for 6th in the NFL this season and should be able to generate pressure on Daniel Jones, leading them to a road win as the Giants losing streak continues. Final score prediction, Washington wins and covers ATS 24-20.
