Washington Commanders - 2022 NFL Season Preview and Wins Total Prediction

The Washington Commanders come into the 2022 season looking to improve on a below average year in 2021. Washington has a wide variety of off the field issues but the focus this year is for the team to head in the right direction. This offseason Washington acquired quarterback Carson Wentz in hopes he can help get the team on track.

Carson Wentz comes into his first year in Washington as an established veteran within the NFL having played last year for the Indianapolis Colts. Wentz will have a host of weapons around him led by running back Antonio Gibson in the backfield. Gibson will be relied upon heavily early in the year as Wentz gets comfortable to carry the ball often and be a primary target in the passing game.

Terry McLaurin Is the primary target within the Washington passing game as he will be receiver number one for Carson Wentz. Curtis Samuel will see his numbers improve drastically this season and rookie Jahan Dotson well immediately step into a big time role.

Defensively Washington will be improved this season led by Bryce Young up front as one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. With Young expected to be healthy the Washington defense immediately gets better and pairing him with edge rusher Montez Sweat gives Washington a big punch up front to lead the defense.
