Two Team Football Parlay for Tonight - Thursday 10/22/20

Our two-team football parlay for Thursday features an NFL Thursday Night Football matchup and a Sun Belt Conference showdown in college football. The New York Giants visit the Philadelphia Eagles for an NFC East Clash while the Arkansas State Red Wolves visit the Appalachian State Mountaineers, who have not played for nearly a month.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: PHI -5.5; Total 43.5

The Philadelphia Eagles have been decimated by injuries. tight end Zach Ertz will likely miss at least a month and running back Miles Sanders is questionable for Thursday's matchup which means the Eagles could have just quarterback Carson Wentz and Jason Kelce, Wentz’s center, as the only two players left that started the regular season on offense for the Eagles. With backup linemen protecting Wentz, the quarterback has been sacked 11 times in the last two games and has been sacked 25 times this season. New York was embarrassed by San Francisco in Week 3, but have played competitively against their other opponents. Heading into the game with Philadelphia on Thursday the Giants are 3-3 against the spread this season. The Giants have been in the lead or trailed by six points or less during the fourth quarter in five of six games this season. Take the points and the road dogs to keep it close against the banged up Eagles.

1st Part of NFL/CFB Parlay: New York Giants +5.5

Arkansas State Red Wolves at Appalachian State Mountaineers: APP -13; Total 66.5

Appalachian State hosts Arkansas State on Thursday but the Mountaineers have not played since September 26th when they defeated the Campbell Fighting Camels 52-21 due to a covid outbreak at the University. The Mountaineers have won two of their first three games this season with the only loss a 17-7 setback to the Marshall Thundering Herd. However, although Appalachian State is 2-1 SU, the Mountaineers are 0-3 ATS. Arkansas State outscored Georgia State last week 59-52 in a shootout and covered as a 3.5-point favorite. This season through five games, Arkansas State is 3-2 SU and 4-1 ATS.  With such a long layoff it's difficult to say how Appalachian State will start and the defense could be back on their heels facing an Arkansas State passing game that  has been eating up chunks of yardage and scoring at a rate of 38.2 points per game. Take the double-digit points and the road dogs to cover, if not win outright over the home chalk.
