Team By Team NFL Draft Breakdown - NFL Picks & Predictions

The NFL Draft is done and a lot of teams filled up some holes in their rosters. However, which one of the NFL teams was able to do the best and the worst? Find out with our quick draft recap covering the teams in a short passage for each team.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals managed to address some of their issues, but not all. The Cardinals did land a great linebacker in Isaiah Simmons and he will make an impact for the Cardinals almost immediately.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons came in with quite a few needs. However, only addressed 2 of those needs and that could show up this year for the Falcons. A.J. Terrell is a great cornerback and fills that need, but Marlon Davidson should help the Falcons on the defensive line. The downside is no linebacker, guard, or end was picked.

Baltimore Ravens

Patrick Queen will be a great addition for the Ravens who were not missing much. However, the Ravens went out secured a great linebacker and managed to provide depth at running back with J.K. Dobbins as well.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills did not have a first round pick and had to make due with what they had. The first pick for the Bills came out late in the second round and the Bills picked up AJ Epenesa who should help fill a defensive end need, but could be on the bench and not be the impact Buffalo needs.

Carolina Panthers

Almost every need the Panthers had fell on the defensive side of the ball. The Panthers definitely filled one of those big needs with a fire plug in the middle by drafting Derrick Brown. To get some good edge rush the Panthers picked up a great rusher in Yetur Gross-Matos.

Chicago Bears

The Bears picked up a great prospect at tight end in Cole Kmet. To make it even better is Kmet is used to playing in the weather in Chicago as Kmet is a product from South Bend. Darnell Mooney may help to shore up the wide out spot with his ability to stretch the field.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals had a lot of needs heading into the draft and filled all of those needs. The downside is did the Bengals miss a great talent pick in Chase Young who could be a potential leader for years to come? That remains to be seen, but judging by the Bengals draft history it could have been a  mistake.

Cleveland Browns

With the Browns the team filled a big offensive tackle in Jedrick Willis Jr. from Alabama. A big question mark for the Browns is the drafting of Donovan Peoples-Jones out of Michigan in the 6th round and that could be a pick that is praised or lauded.

Dallas Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb should provide some great support for the Cowboys and provide Prescott a great target down the field. Trevon Diggs, will provide the Cowboys with some good support at the cornerback position.

Denver Broncos

Picking Jerry Jeudy could really help the Broncos out in filling up a massive need at the wide out position. Jeudy was one of the leaders for the Tide and should transition to the same spot for the Broncos. To help shore up their position even more the Broncos picked up more support at the wideout with KJ Hamler.

Detroit Lions

The defense for the Lions was horrible last year and the drafting of Jeff Okuda should help the Lions shore up their defense. The Lions ended up getting defensive line help late in the draft in what probably will not help out from John Penisini and Jashon Cornell.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers started up some controversy this year in the draft by taking Jordan Love. Love was a great pick and one that provides the Packers with a great option if Rodgers goes down. However, Love is one quarterback that has to live up to his potential if he proves to be a great pick.

Houston Texans

The Texans should be a team that can finally contain the run if it goes to the inside. Drafting Ross Blacklock will stuff the middle and keep the Texans competitive. The downside is the rest of the picks for the Texans addressed some issues, but did not take care of all the issues.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts managed to snag a decent wide out in Michael Pittman Jr. in the second round. However, the Colts also shored up the running back position as well in former Heisman Candidate in Jonathan Taylor out of Wisconsin.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars had plenty of holes to fill this draft and for the most part did just that. The Jaguars key pick was CJ Henderson a very talented and fairly tall cornerback who should be able to keep up with the wideouts in the NFL.

Kansas City Chiefs

With the Chiefs they did not really need much in the way of help. However, the Chiefs did pick up Clyde Edwards-Helaire from LSU at the running back position which is needed. Now, the Chiefs did not fulfill some of their other needs in the draft and in a couple of years that could come back to bite them.

Los Angeles Chargers

After letting Phillip Rivers walk away the Chargers picked up Justin Herbert from Oregon. The Chargers used their second pick in the first round to snag Kenneth Murray a linebacker who comes out of Oklahoma and should help the Chargers with a Junior Seau potential player for the Chargers again.

Los Angeles Rams

Unfortunately for the Rams the team did not get a pick in the first round and had to rely on crumbs in the second round. The Rams did raise some eyebrows by not addressing an immediate need by picking up Cam Akers who could be a great option.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders went on a limb by picking up a good receiver in Henry Ruggs III, but the problem for the Raiders is Ruggs is only 5’11” and that type of size could be an issue in the NFL where the corners are usually able to tower over that size for the Raiders. Something else the Raiders did was shore up their defense by picking up Damon Arnette who was a star corner for Ohio State.

Miami Dolphins

Will the hip injury be lingering this year for Tua Tagovailoa? If it is then the Dolphins wasted a great chance to improve their team. If Tua comes out playing great, though, and back to his form pre-injury then the Dolphins are one lucky team.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings picked up a player at every position that they had a need for. What else is nice is the Vikings picked up Justin Jefferson who is a great receiver who uses his hands to grab the ball, rather than having it come into their chest.

New England Patriots

The Patriots need a quarterback, but the Patriots did not pick one up and that could be a problem for the New England. New England did use their first pick, the 5th pick in the second round to get Kyle Dugger. Who should help out, but the lack of offensive skill players drafted could make this a long year for the Patriots fans.

New Orleans Saints

New Orleans looked to be preening the pretty items off of the draft board. Yes, the Saints have been fairly solid, but the Saints did have some needs on the line and on the defensive side it was very light. However, who did the Saints take, but Cesar Ruiz from Michigan who was a standout center, but now the Saints may need him to slide over if he is to produce the first year.

New York Giants

Picking up Andrew Thomas was a great move for the Giants. Granted, the Giants did not really need an offensive tackle, but Thomas was a strong pick and will definitely shore up the Giants line for a long period of time and potentially for years to come.

New York Jets

The Jets picked up a massive tackle who may have some issues with the NFL before he even signs. The Jets ended up getting Mekhi Becton and his size and power will blow the defensive linemen off the ball, but if the Jets face the Bosa brothers to much it could be a test for the 6’7” 364 pound man from Louisville.

Philadelphia Eagles

In a year with the short receivers getting the higher picks the Eagles picked up Jalen Reagor from TCU and he should help stretch the field. Now, what is really impressive is the Eagles were able to help shore up a questionable quarterback position by picking up Jalen Hurts in the second round.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers did not get their first pick until the middle of the second round. The Steelers did pick up a decent receiver in Chase Claypool who has been compared to Calvin Johnson. If Claypool lives up to the hype then the Steelers could have the steal of the draft.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks draft picks have the fans scratching their heads quite a bit. The Seahawks picked up a linebacker in the first round and that was a position that was not in need. Darrell Taylor was the defensive end the Seattle team picked up to help get the first need addressed.

San Francisco 49ers

The defensive backfield and the offensive line were the need areas for the 49ers and getting the 14th pick in the draft the 49ers had ample choices. However, the 49ers decided to pick up a run stuffer in a division that passes a lot with Javon Kinlaw the 324 pounder from South Carolina.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs had very few needs at skill positions on the offensive side and picked up the one skill position needed with Ke’Shawn Vaughn picked up. However, the Bucs provided Brady with some good protection in picking up Tristan Wirfs the 6’5” 320 pounder from the run heavy Big Ten conference.

Tennessee Titans

Well, the Titans had a big question mark at their offensive tackle positions. The Titans did fulfill that need by getting Isaiah Wilson from Georgia. Wilson is 6’7” and 350 pounds of raw talent and that could be used to replace Jack Conklin who went to Cleveland.

Washington Redskins

Did the Redskins get the best player in the draft? The Bengals picked up Burrow with the first pick and that allowed the Redskins to get a gift in their lap with Chase Young. Granted, the Redskins did not need a defensive end as a true need, but when a strong Ohio State defensive end is preset the teams pick them up, just like at the Bosa brothers to see how well it has panned out for their teams.
