Steelers at Patriots 9/8/19 - NFL Picks & Predictions

The Steelers are going to have a chance to give the fans a great game here as they open on Sunday night by playing the Patriots. That is going to be a game that can even be a playoff preview if these two teams are able to avoid any type of injury. One issue the Steelers may have is the offense has been sputtering on the year already in the preseason and that can cause a lot of problems for the team.

Roethlisberger is coming back for another season in Pittsburgh, but his health is not nearly as good as what he has been. The good news is the Steelers do have James Conner coming back and he looked really impressive last season for the Steelers. With how much the offense sputtered in the preseason, it could be hard pressed to see the defense not giving up some points. What else does not help the Steelers out is the defensive backfield is already banged up on the year.

With the Patriots the team is going to need to get out the gate early and on a good foot. However, the Patriots are a team that already has some questions as to the depth of the team. Thankfully for the Pats fans, the team does have some decent depth and that will help the Patriots out as the injury bug is already sweeping into the offense.

One of the major injuries the Patriots have to overcome is the questionable health of Julian Edelman. What else does not help is the fact that Benjamin Watson, the tight end, is coming into the game suspended already. Defensively the Patriots are looking good on the year so far with only Patrick Chung listed as questionable on the report.
