The Pittsburgh Steelers visit Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday afternoon to play the San Francisco 49ers. The Steelers fell to 0-2 on the season following their 28-26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Even bigger than the loss was the injury to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s elbow which may require surgery. Big Ben’s replacement Mason Randolph threw for 112 yard, two touchdowns and one interception in the loss.

San Francisco improved to 2-0 following is 41-17 victory over Cincinnati. Jimmy Garoppolo threw for three touchdowns in the win as the 49ers opened with two victories on the road. However, San Francisco did lose left tackle Joe Staley to a broken fibula and that could cause concern in the pass protection for Garoppolo.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for 351 yards and one interception, while backup Mason Rudolph has 112 yards passing, two touchdowns and one interception. James Connor is the leading rusher with 54 yards and one touchdown. JuJu Smith-Schuster leads all receivers with 162 yards. Terrell Edmunds and Devin Bush lead Pittsburgh in tackles with 18 apiece.

San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has thrown for 463 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Matt Breida is the leading rusher with 158 yards and one touchdown. George Kittle is the leading receiver with 108 yards. The leading tackler for San Francisco is Fred Warner with 16.

Although Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is not expected to play, the Steelers remain a favorite, which is quite hard to understand after the 49ers played on the road two straight weeks and walked away with a pair of victories and will play their home opener on Sunday. Pittsburgh has many more problems than just an injured QB. Take the home dog to win outright. Final Score Prediction, San Francisco 49ers win and cover ATS 30-17.
