Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys 8/26/22 - NFL Preseason Picks & Predictions

On Friday, the Seattle Seahawks visit AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to play the Dallas Cowboys in the third and final game of the NFL preseason for both teams. Seattle dropped to 0-2 in the preseason following its 27-11 loss to the Chicago Bears. Jacob Eason passed for 141 yards for the Seahawks while DeeJay Dallas caught four passes for 52 yards.

Who will be the starting quarterback for Seattle in Week 1 is still up in the air following its loss to the Bears. Drew Lock was sidelined due to covid-19 while quarterback Geno Smith looked unimpressive passing for just 112 yards. In six possessions during the first half with Smith under center, Seattle had five punts and missed a field goal. In Smith’s defense, the quarterback was playing without top wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

Dallas improved to 1-1 in the preseason following its 32-18 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Cowboys open the preseason with a 17-7 loss to Denver. KaVontae Turpin secured his spot Saturday on the Cowboys roster by returning a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown and following that with a 86-yard punt return for a touchdown. The Dallas offense gained only 242 yards but starting quarterback Dak Prescott did not play nor did Ezekiel Elliott at running back or any of the first-team receivers.

The Dallas defense gave up 296 yards of total offense to the Chargers and forced a pair of turnovers by the Chargers. The Dallas defense is beginning to show signs of improvement, holding the Chargers to 219 yards passing and just 77 yards on the ground. Dallas forced a fumble and had one interception.

Quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are all expected to see some playing time for Dallas on Friday which will give the Cowboys a distinct advantage over Seattle. Seattle continues to have a battle for the starting quarterback position that could force Seattle into turning the ball over, as the quarterbacks will look to impress but face a tough Dallas defense. Final Score Prediction, Dallas Cowboys win and cover ATS 28-17.
