Seattle Seahawks - 2022 NFL Season Preview and Wins Total Prediction

Last Updated: 06/06/2022 at 9:13 PM ET

The Seattle Seahawks will start a season in 2022 without Russell Wilson under center for the first time since the 2011 season. Seattle will have a new QB but a lot of the same weapons on the field putting Seattle in limbo in regards to the season projections. Seattle has talent and depth at most positions and it will be up to the coaching staff to orchestrate a successful season.

Drew Lock will be under center for the Seahawks in week 1 as the new starter for the Seahawks. Lock is a real deal QB with all the talents and skills to run a successful offense. DK Metcalf will still be the #1 receiver in Seattle and it will be up to him to come down with the ball more often than not as lock gets settled in.

Seattle has several elite running backs in the backfield led by Rashaad Penny who will carry the load in the early weeks. Penny is a good back who will help boost Lock's confidence to get through the early stretch of the season. Kenneth Walker III will be used often as well as he too can carry the ball well or come out of the backfield as a receiver.

The Seattle defense will again be the biggest weapon on the team. An expected 3-4 front will control the field and line of scrimmage for Seattle. Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs will be the leaders of the defense as the safety blanket for Seattle from the safety positions.

Despite losing their franchise QB this offseason Seattle still has enough talent to find success in the NFL. Seattle will shock some teams this year and could possibly ruin some playoff hopes. It is unlikely for Seattle to make the playoffs much less compete for a top spot in the division but the talent and defense of the Seahawks will keep them in games late allowing them to break their season win total.
