San Francisco 49ers at New England Patriots 10/25/20 - NFL Picks & Predictions

The San Francisco 49ers make a trek across the country on Sunday to play the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The 49ers levelled their season record at 3-3 following a 24-16 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 268 yards and three touchdowns and George Kittle caught seven passes for 109 yards and one touchdown. The 49ers defense held the Rams to 311 total yards of offense. 

Jimmy Garoppolo has passed for 735 yards with seven touchdowns, two interceptions and has been sacked seven times. The leading rusher for San Francisco is Raheem Mostert with 303 yards and one touchdown. George Kittle is leading all receivers for the 49ers with 380 yards and two touchdown receptions, while Kendrick Bourne has 271 yards and one touchdown reception. On defense, linebacker Fred Warner has a team-high 50 tackles.

New England dropped to 2-3 following its 18-12 loss at home to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. New England is in third place in the AFC East. The Patriots are below .500 after five games for the first time since 2002 when they were 3-4. That was the last season as well that the Patriots did not win 10 or more games. Patriots quarterback Cam Newton passed for 157 yards but was intercepted twice and Newton was the leading rusher in the loss with 76 yards and one touchdown.

Cam Newton has passed for 871 yards with two touchdowns, four interceptions and has been sacked nine times. Newton is the leading rusher for New England with 225 yards and five touchdowns. The leading receiver for New England is Julian Edelman with 302 yards and Damiere Byrd has 217 yards receiving. On defense, safety Adrian Phillips has a team-high 36 tackles.

New England's offense is absolutely atrocious.  The Patriots are 25th in passing offense averaging just 207.2 yards per game and overall are averaging just 374.4 yards per game. New England has failed to cover the number in five of its last seven and is coming off a disappointing 18-12 loss to the Denver Broncos at home when New England was 7-point chalk.
