San Francisco 49ers 2022-23 - NFL Schedule

The San Francisco 49ers finished the 2021-22 NFL regular season 10-7, which was third in the NFC West. San Francisco was 2-4 in the division, 4-4 at home and 6-3 on the road. The 49ers lost the NFC Championship to Los Angeles 20-17. San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has not taken part in any offseason activities after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder. The status of Garoppolo for the opening game in September is uncertain. 

Trey Lance will likely start at quarterback for the 49ers on opening day. Last season Lance threw for 603 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions while appearing in six games. Garoppolo threw for 3,810 yards with 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Elijah Mitchell led San Francisco last season in rushing with 963 yards and five touchdowns. Deebo Samuel is the leading receiver returning from last season with 1,406 yards and six touchdowns. 

San Francisco will play a 4-3 defense in 2022. The front four will be led by defensive ends Nick Bosa and Dee Ford. Bosa is one of the NFL’s best pass rushers. The defensive tackles will be Javon Kinlaw and Arik Armstead. The linebackers corps will have Fred Warner running the show in the middle, surrounded by Dre Greenlaw and Azeez Al-Shaair. The two starting safeties will be George Odum and Jimmie Ward, while Charvarius Ward and Emmanuel Moseley will start at the corners.
