Saints at Chargers 8/18/19 - NFL Preseason Picks & Predictions

The New Orleans Saints head out west to play the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. The Saints lost their opening preseason game to the Minnesota Vikings 34-25. Star quarterback Drew Brees did not play, but Teddy Bridgewater started and played the entire first half throwing for 134 yards and one touchdown. Tight Dan Arnold caught the TD pass from Bridgewater.

The Chargers opened the preseason with a 17-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Starting quarterback Philip Rivers did not play. The Chargers only touchdown was a rush of four yards by Justin Jackson. Tyrod Taylor was the starting QB for the Chargers and completed each of his six passes for 72 yards. Austin Ekeler started at running back for the Chargers and rushed five times for 40 yards. Teddy Bridgewater leads all Saints quarterbacks with 134 yards and one touchdown, while Tayson Hill has thrown for 80 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The leading rusher for the Saints is Tayson Hill with 45 yards. Jacquizz Rodgers and Latavius Murray each have three receptions to leads the Saints, while Dan Arnold and Lil’Jordan Humphrey each have a TD reception.

The leading passer for the Chargers is Easton Stick with 78 yards and one interception, while Tyrod Taylor has thrown for 72 yards. Stick leads all rushers with 51 yards and one touchdown and Austin Ekeler has 40 yards on the ground. Ekeler is the leading receiver with three receptions for 29 yards and Malachi Dupre has two receptions for 32 yards.
