The Raiders and the Panthers are both teams that will be searching for a path to move to. The Raiders are moving to Las Vegas and would like to see their season off to an early start. However, the Panthers are a team that should be looking to bounce back from the losses they have had in the past and definitely looking to jump out early and hold onto the division.

The Raiders this year are looking better at the receivers which will help Derek Carr out. The main addition to help Carr out is Henry Ruggs III out of Alabama. Then to help the Raiders out even better is the fact that the Raiders shored up their defensive backfield as well by drafting Damon Arnette out of Ohio State. In the free agency market, the Raiders shored up their defensive linebacker and line positions as well.

The Panthers had a big hole in their free agency losses with Cam Newton being released. That is definitely something that the Panthers did not really expect to have happen to them this year, but Newton was not as big of a contributor the past couple of seasons. With the Panthers, the team did pursue quite a few free agents and that will definitely help the Panthers out as a lot of the signings have come on the offensive side of the ball.

When it comes to the quarterback battle here, the Raiders have the experience of Derek Carr to throw the ball down the field. Carr has been able to play great even without a talented group of wide outs to throw the ball to. With the Panthers the team will be breaking in Teddy Bridgewater the off season signee at quarterback. Bridgewater was successful at different points in his career and would like to see that success continue here.

The Panthers are at home in this game and while the defense for Carolina has not changed much this year, it is going to be a challenge for the Panthers to really come into their own this year without a quarterback that is familiar with their system like Newton was for Carolina. Look for Carr and the Raiders to take advantage of the new offense for Carolina and shut down the offense. Final Score Prediction, Las Vegas Raiders win 24-20.
