AFC West Division rivals will collide on Sunday afternoon, when the Oakland Raiders invade Mile High Stadium to take on the Denver Broncos. On Monday night, Oakland head coach Jon Gruden’s return to the sideline was spoiled during a 33-13 home loss versus the Rams. The Raiders built a three-point halftime lead, but allowed 23 unanswered points in the second half. Oakland outgained Los Angeles by a 395-363 margin, but turned the ball over three times on the evening.

Oakland Derek Carr threw for 303 yards and three interceptions, including one that was returned for a score late in the fourth quarter. TE Jared Cook hauled in nine passes for 180 yards in a losing effort for the Raiders. The Denver Broncos are flying under the radar for head coach Vance Joseph and could possibly surprise in the AFC West Division. In their season opener. Demaryius Thomas caught a 4-yard touchdown pass with 11 minutes remaining to lift Denver to a 27-24 victory versus Seattle. The Broncos racked up 470 yards of total offense, but turned the ball over three times on the afternoon.

Case Keenum made his first start with Denver and threw for three touchdowns. Veteran wideout Emmanuel Sanders hauled in 10 passes for 135 yards and a touchdowns. Von Miller led the defense with three sacks.

Oakland CB Daryl Worley has been suspended for violating the league’s conduct policy and will return in week five. The Raiders were very competitive in the first half against the Rams, until turnovers made the wheels fall off. Look for Oakland to keep things close and cover on the road.
