The Philadelphia Eagles travel on the road to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Eagles finally notched one in the win column on Sunday night with a 25-20 upset win over the San Fransisco 49ers, improving their record to 1-2-1 on the year. The Steelers have won their opening three games and after some positive COVID tests are coming off a bye week.

Despite a slow start to the season for the Eagles, they still lead the NFC East standings after a tie and win in back to back weeks. The Eagles have dealt with a ton of injuries, specifically on offense and Carson Wentz has gotten off to a terrible start to his 2020 campaign. Wentz has thrown seven interceptions to just four touchdowns and is completing 60.6% of his passes.

With injuries to his main weapons, second-year receiver Greg Ward is leading the charge in the receiving core for Philadelphia this season and has caught 18 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown. Running back Miles Sanders has carried the load for the Philadelphia backfield with 236 yards and a touchdown, averaging 4.6 yards per carry this season.

Pittsburgh has benefited from the return of Ben Roethlisberger who is completing 67% of his passes for seven touchdowns to just one interception this season. With Big Ben coming back, Juju Smith-Schuster has had a rebound year and has already caught 17 passes for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Running back James Connor has gotten off to a good start this season averaging 5.6 yards per carry and has had 100 yards in back-to-back games after a slow start week one.

The Pittsburgh defense is one of the best in the league this season leading the NFL in rushing defense allowing just 54 yards rushing per game, ranking second in total defense allowing 290 yards per game. The Steelers opponents have averaged 19.3 points per game this year which ranks the Steelers 4th in scoring defense.

Philadelphia has been solid on the defensive end as well, allowing 352.3 yards per game ranking 9th in total defense and averaging 26.8 points per game ranking Philadelphia 19th in scoring defense.

Philadelphia has struggled with injuries but could be turning a page this season after a big win over the 49ers. The Eagles offense is going to be hardpressed to move the ball against a stout Steelers defense that is one of the best in the NFL this year. With the return of Big Ben and what will amount to an early bye week after positive COVID tests, they should be plenty prepared to handle an Eagles team that has really struggled early on this year. The injuries are still there and with a wide variety of different receivers being thrust into the spotlight, the Eagles come back to reality with a road loss to the Steelers. Final score prediction, Pittsburgh Steelers win and cover ATS 31-21.
