Philadelphia Eagles at Las Vegas Raiders 10/24/21 - NFL Picks & Predictions

The Philadelphia Eagles travel on the road to Allegiant Stadium to take on the turmoil-filled Las Vegas Raiders. The Eagles have struggled to a start this year and after a 28-22 loss on Thursday night last week to Tampa Bay, dropped to 2-4 on the year. The Raiders lost head coach John Gruden, but showed a lot of battle in a 34-24 win on the road over Denver, improving to 4-2 and keeping their playoff hopes alive.
The Eagles offense has been an average unit averaging 360.3 yards and 22.8 points per game, and a lot of it relies on second year quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts is completing 62.5% of his passes this year for 1,480 yards and 8 touchdowns to 4 interceptions, he also leads the Eagles with 300 rushing yards and five touchdowns. The Eagles have nearly completlety abandoned running back Miles Sanders, he’s carried the ball just 57 times rushing for 270 yards and has yet to find the endzone.
The Eagles come into the week ranked 11th in total defense allowing 347.2 yards per contest, but are in the bottom third of the NFL in scoring defense wallowing 25.3 points per contest. They struggled to stop the Bucs lethal passing attack, and could similarly struggle with the Raiders especially through the air.
Las Vegas is tenth in the NFL in total offense averaging 385.2 yards per game and just outside the top-10 in scoring offense with 24.5 points per contest. The Raiders are third in the NFL in passing offense racking up 305.3 air yards per game, led by veteran Derrick Carr. Carr is completing 64.2% of his passes for 1,964 yards and 10 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Second-year receiver Henry Ruggs III has led the team in receiving with 445 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Raiders defense has been a solid unit allowing 353.3 yards per contest and holding opponents to 24 points per game, both ranking in the top half of the NFL. Although Hurts and his dual threat ability present plenty of troubles for defenses, the lack of a true running back run game from the Eagles will allow the Raiders to limit the passing attack,
Betting Trends for vs

The Raiders showed a lot of resilience to handle the loss of their coach and putting together a win on the road over the Broncos, but with the Eagles coming off a long week I think they bounce back and get the win. Both teams have been relatively one-dimensional but I believe the Eagles are able to get the run game with Miles Sanders going to compliment the offense, and their fifth-ranked passing defense is able to give the Raiders a ton of different looks defensively on the way to a win. Final score prediction, Eagles win and cover ATS 31-23.
