Giants vs Eagles Picks and Prediction – 1/4/2025

The New York Giants (3-13) are in 4th place in the NFC East Division and rank 32nd in the league in team points per game at 14.3 points. Last week, The Giants beat the Indianapolis Colts 45-33 eliminating them from the playoffs. The Giants snapped a franchise-record 10-game losing streak, winning for the first time at home this season. New York quarterback Drew Lock led with four touchdown passes and a late TD run and the Giants got to walk off the field with smiles for the first time in months after a season of misery that will could lead to major changes. Star wide receiver Malik Nabers finished with seven catches for a career-high 171 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Giants no longer have control of the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

The Philadelphia Eagles (13-3) clinched the NFC East Division and are locked into the No. 2 seed in the NFC after beating the Dallas Cowboys 41-7 last week. Saquon Barkley rushed for 167 yards to top 2,000 on the season, backup quarterback Kenny Pickett ran and threw for scores before departing with injured ribs against Dallas.

Barkley has 2,005 yards and needs 101 in this week's mostly meaningless regular-season finale to top Eric Dickerson and his 2,105 yards for the Los Angeles Rams in 1984. Third string quarterback Tanner McKee entered the game and the Eagles finished the drive with a field goal.

McKee later threw two TD passes, a 20-yarder to A.J. Brown and a 25-yarder to DeVonta Smith, in front of a roaring crowd delighted to watch the Eagles dominate the Cowboys. Saquon Barkley will get a chance to break the rushing record against his former team the Giants. 

The New York Giants are only 2-5 on the road this season. The Giants played a good game against a below average defense in the Colts last week but the Eagles are a much better team. Drew Lock will have a tougher time this week. The Philadelphia Eagles (5-3 at home) backups are just as good as the Giants starters and might be even better. Eagles running back Saquan Barkley will be trying for the rushing record and third string quarterback Tanner McKee is a very good player so there is no drop off in talent. The Eagles will take the lead early and late and cover the spread against New York. Final Score Prediction, Philadelphia wins 27-17.
