New Orleans Saints 2022-23 - NFL Schedule

The New Orleans Saints were 9-8 in 2021-22. New Orleans finished 4-2 in division play, 3-5 at home and 6-3 on the road. The Saints scored an average of 21.4 points per game which was 19th in the NFL and the Saints gave up an average of 19.7 points per game which was fourth best. New Orleans rushed for an average of 117.1 yards per game which was 15th but the Saints were last in passing with an average of 187.4 yards per game.

New Orleans will have a new head coach as Sean Payton is no longer with the Saints. The new head coach for New Orleans is Dennis Allen, who has been the defensive coordinator for the Saints since 2015. Quarterback Jameis Winston returns after missing 10 games last season due to an injury. Winston passed for 1,170 yards with 14 touchdowns and three interceptions before going down injured. 

Running back Alvin Kamara returns after last season rushing for 898 yards with four touchdowns. The leading receiver returning from last season is Marquez Callaway who caught 46 passes for 698 yards and six touchdowns. Michael Thomas is expected to return healthy after missing most of the last two seasons.

The New Orleans defense, which was fourth in points allowed last season will be a 4-3 and its defensive coordinator is now the head coach so expect even more improvement. Marcus Davenport and Cameron George will be the starting defensive ends while Shy Tuttle and David Onyemata will anchor the interior line. The linebackers are led by Demario Davis, Pete Werner and Zack Baun. The New Orleans secondary has the talented Marshon Lattimore at one cornerback with Paulson Adebo playing opposite Lattimore. Tyrann Mathieu and Marcus Maye are expected to be the starting safeties.
