New England Patriots - 2022 NFL Season Preview and Wins Total Prediction

The New England Patriots come into the 2022 season as Mac Jones will begin his second full year as an NFL quarterback. Jones had a good rookie season a year ago and is expected to make big strides going forward. The Patriots offense has a host of weapons surrounding Jones but will have to figure out how to work in 2022 after the departure of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Mac Jones proved a year ago he is an NFL quarterback capable of winning games down the stretch. With Jones under center running back Damien Harris will be leaned on heavily as the prime ballcarrier of the team.  Harris could potentially rush for more than 1000 yards, while serving as a good short yardage receiver in the passing game.

Jakobi Meyers is expected to have a breakout season as the number one receiver on the Patriots roster. DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne will see their usage rise in the 2022 season, while veteran Nelson Agholor will bring his leadership and knowledge to the Patriots receiving core.

The defensive side of the ball is the weakest part of the Patriots game coming into the 2022 season currently ranked 19th in the NFL. Malcolm Butler is now with the New England Patriots leaned on to fill the void of J.C. Jackson from a year ago. Josh Uche Is the only true pass rusher on the New England defense as the Patriots will rely heavily on a young trio of linebackers to anchor that side of the ball.
