The Lions seem to be closer to getting over the hump as they host the 5-6 Vikings this week. Detroit, 0-10-1, managed to tie a game three weeks ago and lost its last two games by a total of five points. While Detroit remains winless, five of those losses were by a field goal or less.

The Lions are almost the worst in the league, giving up 26.6 points per game, but have not given up more than 16 in the last three weeks.

The last time these teams met was in week five in Minnesota. The Vikings had to kick a 54-yard field goal as time expired to win that one, so it's reasonable to think the Lions have a chance at home against them.

Minnesota is coming off a loss to the 49ers. Four times this season, the Vikings have either won two in a row or lost two in a row. In the loss, leading rusher Dalvin Cook, for 734 yards, had to be helped off the field with a shoulder injury. Justin Jefferson had 934 yards and six touchdowns.

Detroit's issues have been more with scoring this season, averaging the next to worst in the league, 15.8 points per game.

For Detroit, Jared Goff had 2280 yards, 10 touchdowns, and six interceptions. DeAndre Swift has run for 555 yards and five scores. Swift is the second-leading receiver with 435 yards and two more touchdowns. TJ Hockerman leads the team with 532 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Minnesota has won the last eight games, but the last two were decided by two points each.

Detroit is starting to come around and have shown that they are a team that is improving as the year has went on. A lot of that comes from Goff starting to feel comfortable in Detroit, but still the Lions are struggling and will continue to have problems on the year here as the Vikings have a good defense and a fairly balanced defense. Final Score, Minnesota Vikings win, but fail to cover 24-20.
