Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears 12/20/21 - NFL Picks & Predictions

An NFC North Division clash will take place on Monday night, when the Minnesota Vikings invade Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears. The Vikings (6-7) have dropped five of their first seven road games and are currently locked in a five-way tie for seventh place in the National Football Conference. On Thursday, Minnesota built a 22-point lead entering the fourth quarter and held on for a 36-28 home victory versus Pittsburgh.

WR Justin Jefferson put Minnesota on the scoreboard first with a 14-yard touchdown reception from Kirk Cousins. Dalvin Cook carried 27 times for 205 yards and two scores for the Vikings.

The Chicago Bears have lost seven of their last eight games, with the only victory coming on Thanksgiving against lowly Detroit. Offensive production continues to be the issue for the Bears, who rank last in the league in passing (173.8 ypg) and 30th in scoring (16.8 ppg). On Sunday night, Chicago was outscored by 21 points during the second half of a 45-30 road loss against Green Bay.

Chicago exploded for 24 points during the second quarter to take a 27-21 halftime lead, but three turnovers led to their demise. Jakeem Grant caught a 46-yard touchdown pass and added a 97-yard punt return for a score.

Minnesota WR Adam Thielen (ankle) did not play in Thursday’s victory and is listed as questionable for this game. The Vikings need this game to keep their playoff hopes alive and will cover on the road. Final Score Prediction, Minnesota Vikings win 27-17.
