Minnesota Vikings 2022-23 - NFL Schedule

The Minnesota Vikings finished the 2021-22 NFL regular season 8-9 and second in the NFC North. Minnesota was 4-2 in division play, 5-3 at home and 3-6 on the road. Minnesota's offense scored an average of 25.0 points per game which was 14th in the NFL but the defense gave up slightly more at 25.1 points per game which was 24th. The Vikings rushed for an average of 113.5 yards per game and passed for an average of 249.3 yards per game.

Kevin O'Connell is the new head coach for Minnesota and while at Washington, was the quarterback coach for Kirk Cousins. Minnesota will have starting quarterback Kirk Cousins back under center. Last season the Vikings’ signal-caller passed for 4,221 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The top two skills players from last season for Minnesota return. Running back Dalvin Cook rushed for 1,159 yards with six touchdowns and wide receiver Justin Jefferson caught 108 passes for 1,616 yards and 10 touchdowns. Adam Thielen was lost for four games last season but still managed to catch 10 touchdown passes.

Minnesota's defense will be a 3-4. Jaylen Twyman and Harrison Phillips will lead the way front three at defensive ends and Dalvin Tomlinson will be the nose tackle. Danielle Hunter, Eric Kendricks, Jordan Hicks and Za’Darius Smith form a strong linebacker corps for the Vikings. Patrick Peterson and Cameron Dantzler will be the two starting cornerbacks for Minnesota while Harrison Smith and Lewis Cine have been penciled in as the starting safeties.
