Dolphins vs Chiefs Picks and Prediction – 1/14/2024

Arrowhead Stadium will play host to a Saturday night NFL playoff battle between the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs. The sixth-seeded Dolphins (11-6) lost consecutive games to end the regular season and failed to clinch the AFC East Division title. On Sunday night, Miami was shutout during the second half of a 21-14 home loss versus Buffalo. 

Tyreek Hill caught seven passes for 82 yards and gave the Dolphins a 14-7 lead on a three-yard touchdown reception late in the second quarter. De’Von Achane added a 25-yard touchdown and finished with 56 rushing yards. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 173 yards and was picked off on Miami’s last drive.

The Kansas City Chiefs have won eight consecutive AFC West Division titles and are in search of their third Super Bowl victory in the last six years. The Chiefs (11-6) finished the regular season a game above .500 at home and rank second in the league in total defense. Kansas City’s offense took a step back this year, but Patrick Mahomes still threw for 4,183 yards and 27 touchdowns. 

On Sunday, Kansas City rested several key players during a 13-12 road victory against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs got on the scoreboard first when Mike Edwards returned a fumble 97 yards for a touchdown. Harrison Butker nailed a game-winning 41-yard field goal with 49 seconds remaining. 

Miami will be without edge rushers Bradley Chubb (knee) and Jaelan Phillips (Achilles) for the postseason.
