Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals 8/27/22 - NFL Preseason Picks & Predictions

The Los Angeles Rams visit Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday to play the Cincinnati Bengals in the final game of the NFL preseason for both teams. Los Angeles dropped to 1-1 in the preseason following its 24-20 loss to the Houston Texans after opening the preseason with a 29-22 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Wide receiver Lance McCutcheon was the top playmaker for the Rams in the loss for the second consecutive week. McCutcheon, who was undrafted, caught five passes for 96 yards and is expected to make the 53-man roster. John Wolford passed for 142 yards but starting quarterback Matthew Stafford did not see any playing time. The Los Angeles defense gave up 274 yards of total offense to Houston.

The Cincinnati Bengals are 0-2 in the preseason. Cincinnati opened the preseason with a 36-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals and this past weekend lost to the New York Giants 25-22. The biggest bright spot in the loss for Cincinnati was the play of rookie defensive back Dax Hill, who intercepted a pass and played every snap on defense in the first half. Hill had six tackles plus the interception.

Cincinnati's offense in the loss was led by quarterback Brandon Allen who passed for 105 yards, while Jake Browning passed for 89 yards. Star quarterback Joe Burrow did not see any action, but is expected to play on Saturday. The Cincinnati defense gave up far too much, allowing the New York Giants 423 yards of total offense and if not for a pair of New York turnovers the score could have been much worse.

This is a matchup between last season’s participants in the Super Bowl, in which the Rams defeated the Bengals. Cincinnati would like to get just a slight bit of revenge at home even though the game is during the preseason. Do not expect to see quarterback Matthew Stafford for the Rams as he nurses a sore elbow and the Rams are not worried about losing another preseason game so look for Cincinnati to pull out all the stops and win at home. Final Score Prediction, Cincinnati Bengals win and cover ATS 30-24.
