Last Updated: 09/15/2022 at 10:46 PM ET

The week two NFL schedule will kickoff with a Thursday night battle between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs from Arrowhead Stadium. The Chargers (1-0) are led by third-year QB Justin Herbert, who threw for 5,014 yards and 38 touchdowns last season. On Sunday, Los Angeles forced three turnovers during a 24-19 home victory versus Las Vegas.

Herbert completed 26 of 34 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns for a sparkling 129.4 QBR. TE Gerald Everett caught three passes for 54 yards and a score for the Chargers.

The Kansas City Chiefs lost to Cincinnati in the AFC Championship and are trying to replace WR Tyreek Hill from their high-powered offense. In their season opener, Kansas City raced out to a 14-point lead after one quarter and cruised to a 44-21 road victory against Arizona. The Chiefs (1-0) outgained the Cardinals by a 488-282 margin and averaged an impressive 7.4 yards per play.

All-Pro QB Patrick Mahomes carved the Arizona secondary up for 360 passing yards and five touchdowns. Travis Kelce hauled in eight passes for 121 yards and put the Chiefs on the scoreboard first with a 9-yard touchdown reception.

Kansas City K Harrison Butker rolled his ankle on Sunday’s opening kickoff and his status for this game is uncertain. These two teams ranked in the top five in total offense and scoring offense last season, so the over is worth a look. The stronger play is on the Chargers to cover on the road. Final Score Prediction, Los Angeles Chargers win 30-27.
