Chiefs vs Falcons Prediction

Mercedes-Benz Stadium will play host to a Sunday night NFL battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons. For other NFL news see our NFL Picks. The Chiefs (2-0) are in 1st place in the AFC West division and rank 7th in the league in team points scored at 27.0 points. Last week, Kansas City kicker Harrison Butker drilled a 51-yarder as time expired, giving Kansas City the 26-25 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals at home. A pass interference call on Cincinnati safety Daijahn Anthony on fourth down, moved the Chiefs to the Cincinnati 36, and they ran a couple more plays to bleed the clock for the big-legged Butker, who turned around and started walking off the field even before his kick went through the uprights. Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 151 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Kansas City wide receiver Rashee Rice had five receptions for 75 yards and one touchdown. Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco left in the final minute and was seen in a walking boot with crutches leaving the stadium.

The Atlanta Falcons (1-1) took a late lead with a Kirk Cousins touchdown pass to Drake London with 34 seconds remaining to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 22-21 on Monday night. Surprisingly the Eagles defense was playing soft coverage with a nonexistent pass rush that helped Atlanta’s situation. Atlanta is ranked second to last in the NFL in points scored per game with 10 points. The Falcons have been solid on defense and are ranked 6th with 18 points per game given up. Bijan Robinson led Atlanta in rushing with 97 yards on 14 carries. Darnell Mooney, wide receiver was targeted 7 times and had 88 yards and one touchdown. Kansas City should be a tougher test for the Falcons.

Chiefs vs Falcons Pick Analysis

Atlanta Quarterback Kirk Cousins is new to this offense and is learning his players and is a work in progress to find out who he can trust in important situations. Kansas City has the much better team and will find some success to out score the Falcons as their defense shuts down the Atlanta’s offensive attack. Kansas City will score just enough to cover the spread in a lower scoring game. Final score prediction, Kansas City wins 23-17.
