Kansas City Chiefs - 2021 NFL Season Preview & Win Total Predictions

The Chiefs are coming in with a lot of the same coaches that they have had for several years. Andy Reid is coming here to guide the Chiefs again and with that being the case, the Chiefs are coming back with an almost fully intact staff. In fact, the Chiefs only lost 2 coaches from the staff last year and that will definitely help the Chiefs out in getting to play good and consistent.

The Chiefs are coming here with a potential perennial MVP in Patrick Mahomes. Even if Mahomes goes down Chad Henne is a very capable backup. The rushing offense for the Chiefs is fairly balanced with several running backs to carry the load. The receivers are going to be a potent threat to any opponent, but what will really be interesting is if Mahomes is able to have enough time to throw as the offensive line is looking good, but has a lot of new faces on it.

Defensively the Chiefs have managed to play great in the past. The Chiefs, though, are a defense that has to show some good play in the game here. Chiefs have a line that is fairly intact, but the linebackers have a lot of work to do as they are young, but full of potential. The secondary will have to rely on the line to amp up the pressure on the opponents as the Chiefs do have a good defensive backfield, but it is one that could be pushed around if challenged on a regular basis.

Harrison Butker is one of the best threats outside of Mahomes for the Chiefs. He has proven to be a very accurate kicker in the past and that will continue in the season here. The punting game for Kansas City can definitely change the field, but even then that all depends on how often the Chiefs have to punt.
