Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs 1/21/23 - NFL Picks & Predictions

The 2023 NFL Divisional Round will kick off on Saturday with a matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The Jaguars (10-8) reeled off five straight victories to close the regular season and capture the AFC South Division title. On Saturday, Jacksonville pulled off the third largest comeback in NFL playoff history with a 31-30 home victory versus the Los Angeles Chargers. 

Jacksonville trailed 27-0 in the second quarter and cut the deficit at halftime to 20 on a nine-yard touchdown reception from Evan Engram. Trevor Lawrence shook off four interceptions to finish with 288 passing yards and four touchdowns. Riley Patterson nailed a 36-yard field goal for the Jaguars as time expired.

The Kansas City Chiefs have won seven straight AFC West Division titles and led the league in total offense at over 400 yards per game. QB Patrick Mahomes made a strong case for league MVP with 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns. In their regular season final, Kansas City built a 21-point halftime lead and cruised to a 31-13 road triumph against Las Vegas.

Patrick Mahomes completed 18 of 26 passes for 202 yards and a two-yard touchdown pass to Jerick McKinnon. Rookie RB Isiah Pacheco rushed for a team-high 64 yards and a score on just eight carries. Travis Kelce caught six passes for 38 yards for the Chiefs, who forced two turnovers on the afternoon.

Jacksonville LT Cam Robinson has been lost for the season with a torn meniscus The Chiefs are notorious fast starters and a play on over their first half total would be wise. Look for the Jaguars to keep things close and cover on the road. Final Score Prediction, Kansas City Chiefs win 28-23.
