On September 10, the Houston Texans will visit Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri to play the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night Football to kick off the 2020 NFL regular season. The Houston Texans were the AFC South champions in 2019 with an overall record of 10-6. In 2019, the Texans were 1-1 versus the Chiefs defeating Kansas City 31-21 on the road in week 6 and losing to the Chiefs in the divisional playoffs 51-31. DeShaun Watson returns as the starting quarterback for the Texans but many new faces will be on the offense.

The Texans lost star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to free agency, but have added receivers Randall Cobb and Brandin Cooks. The Texans acquired offensive lineman Laremi Tunsil to give more protection to Watson as Houston has allowed 106 sacks over the past two seasons The Texans drafted Ross Blalock a defensive lineman from TCU with their first pick and strengthened the defense even more by drafting edge rusher Jonathan Greenard out of Florida.

The Kansas City Chiefs will enter the 2020 NFL regular season with a huge target on their chest as the defending Super Bowl champions and each of their 16 regular-season opponents will work extra hard to knock the Chiefs off their perch.  Andy Reid returns as the head coach with most of the same coaching staff and quarterback Patrick Mahomes will anchor the offense. Kansas City finished the regular season in 2019 at 12-4 and were AFC West champions by 5 Games over both Denver and Oakland.

Kansas City made very few moves during the offseason with the biggest move the signing of running back DeAndre Washington. In the 2020 draft, the Chiefs selected LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire in an attempt to shore up the weakest part of their explosive offense, while in the second-round the Chiefs with a pick from the San Francisco 49ers chose Willie Gay Jr. a linebacker from the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Chiefs offense will have the same look as 2019 with Mahomes under center and his favorite targets Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins.

During the offseason, the Houston Texans made many more transactions via free agent signings and trades then did the Kansas City Chiefs. Nonetheless, the Texans have a big disadvantage against the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs as Kansas City will have nearly its entire team intact from last season when they routed the Texans in the playoffs 51-31. Final Score Prediction, Kansas City Chiefs win and cover ATS 38-24
