Houston Texans at Detroit Lions 11/26/20 - NFL Picks & Predictions

In the first game of a Thanksgiving NFL tripleheader, the Houston Texans will travel to Ford Field to face the Detroit Lions. The Texans (3-7) have won two of their last three games and rank eighth in the league in passing offense at 274 yards per contest. On Sunday, Houston built an 11-point halftime lead and did not commit a turnover on their way to a 27-20 home victory versus New England.

Houston QB Deshaun Watson continued to play at an All-Pro level with 344 passing yards and two touchdowns. Watson also rushed for a team-high 36 yards and scored on a four-yard touchdown run.

The Detroit Lions have lost three of their four home games and are currently in last place in the NFC North Division. The Lions (4-6) are allowing 28.7 on average and trail Arizona by two full games for the third and final NFC Wild Card spot. On Sunday, Detroit managed just 185 yards of total offense during a disappointing 20-0 road loss against Carolina.

Veteran QB Matthew Stafford completed 18 of his 33 passes for 178 yards. Talented TE T.J. Hockenson caught a team-high four passes for 68 yards and Adrian Peterson was limited to 18 yards rushing on seven attempts. Big improvement will be needed by Detroit if Lions bounce-back here.

Detroit RB D’Andre Swift missed last game with a concussion and is listed as questionable for this contest. Both teams struggle to move the ball on the ground and defend the pass. Take the Lions to bounce back with a home victory on Thanksgiving day. Final Score Prediction, Detroit Lions win and cover ATS 27-24.
