Green Bay Packers 2019 Season Preview - NFL Picks & Predictions

The Green Bay Packers are coming off a disappointing six-win season and fired head coach Mike McCarthyas a result. Matt Lafluer was named the 15th head coach in Green Bay history and the organization hopes that he can do wonders with All-Pro QB Aaron Rodgers. The oft-injured signal caller, Rodgers, is considered by most to be the best in the game and threw for 25 touchdowns in 2018.

Green Bay has two extremely talented offensive tackles to protect Rodgers and signed G Billy Turner to upgrade an already good offensive line. RB Aaron Jones has rushed for 5.5 yards per carry in each of his first two seasons and must be utilized more by the new coaching staff.

For the Packers to challenge for an NFC North Division title, they will have to improve on a defense that surrendered 25 points per game last season. New GM Brian Gutenkunst identified pass rush as a priority, signing OLBs Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith to strike fear into opposing quarterbacks. Clay Matthews is no longer with Green Bay, but Kyler Fackrel (10.5 sacks) returns.

The Green Bay secondary got a major upgrade, when the team signed S Adrian Amos away from the rival Chicago Bears. Starting CBs Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson showed potential in their rookie season and still have plenty of room for growth.

The NFC North is expected to be a three-team race, with the Detroit Lions figuring not to be in contention. The Packers may not have the best defense out of the three contenders, but they most definitely have the most important player at the most important position with Rodgers. If number 12 can stay healthy, look for Green Bay to win the NFC North Division title. Final Season Prediction, Green Bay Packers Over 9 Wins.
