Last Updated: 10/12/2020 at 11:23 AM ET

The Detroit Lions visit TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida on Sunday to face the Jacksonville Jaguars.  The Lions are coming off a bye and Detroit dropped to 1-3 following its 35-29 loss to the New Orleans Saints last week. The Lions are in third place in the NFC North and have defeated just the Arizona Cardinals during week 3. The Lions are 19th in scoring averaging 24.8 points per game but are allowing the fourth-most points at 31.8 per game.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford has passed for 1,017 yards with eight touchdowns, three interceptions and has been sacked 12 times. The leading rusher for Detroit is Adrian Peterson with 245 yards and one touchdown, while the leading receiver is tight end TJ Hockenson with 180 yards and two touchdown receptions. Danny Amendola is the second leading receiver with 177 yards. On defense, safety Tracy Walker has a team-high 29 tackles.

Jacksonville dropped to 1-4 following its 30-14 loss on Sunday to the Houston Texans. The Jaguars have now lost four straight and are in last place in the AFC South. In the loss on Sunday, quarterback Gardner Minshew passed for 301 yards and two touchdowns but the defense could not hold back the Houston Texans offensive attack that scored 17 points in the fourth quarter. Jacksonville gave up 486 yards of total offense to Houston and committed two turnovers.

Gardner Minshew has passed for 1,439 yards with 10 touchdowns, four interceptions and has been sacked 16 times. James Robinson is the leading rusher for Jacksonville with 333 yards and three touchdowns. The leading receiver for the Jaguars is rookie Laviska Shenault Jr with 270 yards and one touchdown reception, while DJ Clark Jr. has 220 yards receiving and three touchdown receptions. On defense, safety Josh Jones has a team-high 38 tackles.

Detroit is coming off a bye and therefore has had a full extra week to prepare for this meeting with Jacksonville. Both defenses are poor to say the least as the Lions allow the fourth most points per game and Jacksonville the ninth most points. The Jaguars have failed to cover nine of their last 13 overall and seven of their last nine following a loss straight up. The Lions know how to score points and with an extra week of preparation will slow down the Jaguars enough to pick up a win on the road. Final Score Prediction, Detroit Lions win and cover ATS 31-24.
