Lumen Field will play host to a Monday night NFL matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks. The Broncos (7-10) have been plagued by mediocre quarterback play for more than a decade and averaged less than 20 points per game. Denver addressed their inadequacy by trading for QB Russell Wilson and he will be surrounded by a talented group of pass catchers led by Courtland Sutton. Second year pro Javonte Williams (903 yards) and Melvin Gordon figure to split the load in the backfield.

Denver finished last season ranked eighth in total defense and was one of only four teams to hold their opponents under 20 points per game. DE Randy Gregory was signed during the offseason to compliment talented pass rusher Bradley Chubb.

For the first time in a decade, the Seattle Seahawks enter the 2022 campaign without Russell Wilson leading the offense. Veteran head coach Pete Carroll has named Geno Smith as the starting quarterback and has Drew Lock waiting in the wings if he fails. The Seahawks (7-10) will look to establish their ground game with Rashaad Penny and second round pick Kenneth Walker from Michigan State.

Seattle must improve on a defense that finished near the bottom of the league (379 ypg). The Seahawks lost LB Bobby Wagner to the Rams and addressed their lackluster pass rush by signing OLB Uchenna Nwosu.
