Denver Broncos 2022-23 - NFL Schedule

The Denver Broncos finished 7-10 and last in the AFC West in the 2021-22 NFL regular season. Denver was 1-5 in division play, 4-5 at home and 3-5 on the road. Denver made the biggest acquisition in the NFL during the offseason by acquiring former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Denver is now considered one of the favorites to win the AFC and a contender to win the Super Bowl. Denver will also start with a new head coach in Nathaniel Hackett.

Last season while with Seattle, Wilson passed for 3,113 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions in just 14 games. Josh Johnson will be Wilson's backup. Denver's running game will be led by Javonte Williams, who last season rushed for 903 yards and four touchdowns. Melvin Gordon III was the leading rusher last season with 918 yards and eight touchdowns but is expected to play behind Williams. Wilson will have plenty of targets to throw to including Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick and KJ Hamler.

Denver's defense is expected to be one of the AFC’s best. This season there will be less pressure on the defense as Denver's offense is now much stronger. The defensive line will be led by Dre’Mont Jones while DJ Jones was signed during the offseason to stuff the run. Mike Purcell will complete the front line for the Broncos.

Von Miller is no longer with the Broncos and Bradley Chubb is prepared to be the new elite outside linebacker for Denver and will have Randy Gregory as well as Nik Bonitto and Baron Browning on the outside. The inside linebackers will be Josey Hewell and Alex Singleton. The Broncos secondary will include cornerbacks Patrick Surtain II and Ronald Darby as starters and K’Waun Williams as the first backup. Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson will be the starting safeties.
