The Dallas Cowboys were embarrassed on Monday Night Football without MVP candidate Dak Prescott, now the questions begin if Andy Dalton can lead this Cowboys team through a soft NFC East division. The 38-10 loss dropped America’s team to 2-4 on the season yet they still stand atop the NFC East headed into this divisional matchup. Washington fell short on a two-point conversion that would have won the game falling 20-19 to the Giants and dropping their fifth straight game.

The Cowboys offense faltered without Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton was forced to throw the ball 54 times after two Ezekal Elliot fumbles that put the Cowboys down 14-0. Dalton completed just 34 of his 54 attempts, throwing two interceptions and totaling 266 yards and just one touchdown. The Cowboys totaled 344 team yards but came into this game are averaging a league-best 464 total yards and 28.8 points per game.

WIthout Dak Prescott which is clearly going to take away from the Cowboys lethal passing attack, the focus will have to turn to Ezekiel Elliot. Zeke has found the endzone five times while averaging 4 yards per carry totaling 413 yards per game. He has struggled with fumbles, including two key first-half fumbles in the loss to Arizona, and totaled 4 on the year already.

The Washington Football Team has turned the offense over to Kyle Allen, Allen has been solid in his two games played this season completing 72.7% of his passes for 354 yards. He’s only thrown two touchdowns to one interception but has proved to be a better option through two games than the former quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Washington has struggled in all facets of offense ranking last in yards per game with 275.3 and 29th in scoring offense averaging 18 points per game. Washington has the league's worst rushing attack and is averaging just 82.2 yards per game on the ground led by Antonio Gibson who has totaled 244 yards for three touchdowns. As a team, the Washington Football team averages just 3.5 yards per carry.

Washington has a middle of the pack scoring defense this year allowing 27 points per game which ranks 19th but is holding teams to just 337 yards per game which ranks 6th in total defense. The Cowboys defense has been absolutely dismal and without Prescott, the pressure on the defense is going to be increased. Dallas is allowing 36.3 points per game which ranks last in the NFL and are allowing 410 yards per game which ranks 27th in total defense.

The Cowboys offense looked lost without Dak Prescott and will need to make some serious changes in order to stay afloat. They will need to turn to Zeke and he will need to clean up the turnovers if the Cowboys want to stay alive in the playoff hunt. They have a great chance to get a win in this matchup and I believe Andy Dalton knocked off the rust in his first start of the season. Dallas' defense has struggled all season long but should be able to get stops against one of the worst offenses in the NFL. The Cowboys get back on track against the awful Washington Football Team. Final score prediction, Dallas Cowboys win and cover ATS 31-24.
