Dallas Cowboys 2022-23 - NFL Schedule

Last season the Dallas Cowboys finished first in the NFC East with an overall record of 12-5 and the Cowboys were undefeated at 6-0 in division play. Dallas finished three games ahead of the second-place Philadelphia Eagles but were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 in the wildcard round of the postseason. Quarterback Dak Prescott led a powerful Dallas offense that finished second in passing yardage at 282.4 yards per game and 9th in rushing at 124.6 yards per game. The Cowboys were first in scoring with an average of 31.2 points per game and held the opposition to 21.1 points per game which was the seventh-best.

The core of the strong Dallas offense returns as Dak Prescott will be under center while Ezekiel Elliott will be the leading running back and the talented receiving core will consist of CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and James Washington amongst others. Dallas drafted wide receiver Jalen Tolbert who will battle with Washington for the third wide receiver position. 

The Dallas defense will have DeMarcus Lawrence, who only played seven games in 2021, back to help frustrate opposing passers. However, the key to the Cowboys defense is all-world Micah Parsons, who will lead a strong linebacker core. Defensive tackle Neville Gallimore is expected to give the front four a running stopping presence and also rush the passer well. Anthony Brown, Jayron Kearse, Malik Hooker and Trevon Diggs give the Cowboys a very strong secondary. Last season Diggs led the NFL in interceptions with 11.
