The Indianapolis Colts visit FedEx field in Landover, Maryland to play the Washington Redskins in an inter-conference showdown on Sunday.

The Colts opened the regular season with 34-23 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Andrew Luck returned after more than one full season on the sidelines and threw for 319 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Colts trailed 27-23 and were at the Bengals 15 late in the game, but fumbled and the Bengals ran the recovery back for a touchdown putting the game out of reach.

The Washington Redskins opened the season with a 24-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Alex Smith debuted under center for the Redskins with 265 yards passing and two touchdowns, while veteran running back Adrian Peterson gained 96 yards on the ground and scored one touchdown. The Redskins had 429 yards of total offense, while holding the Cardinals to just 213. The rushing game for the Redskins gained 182 yards, while the Cardinals could manage just 68. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has 319 yards passing, two touchdowns and one interception after Week 1. The leading rusher for the Colts is Jordan Wilkens with 40 yards, while Jack Doyle is the leading receiver with 60 yards. Eric Ebron and T.Y. Hilton each scored receiving touchdowns for the Colts. Darius Leonard leads the Colts with 9 tackles, while Margus Hunt is the sacks leader with 2.0.

Redskins quarterback Alex Smith has 255 yards passing and two touchdowns. The leading rusher is Adrian Peterson with 96 yards and one touchdown. Peterson is also leading all Redskins receivers with 70 yards. Wide receiver Chris Thompson has 63 yards and one touchdown. Quinton Dunbar is tied with four other teammates with five tackles to lead the team, while Matt Ioannidis and Ryan Anderson are the sacks leaders with 1.0 apiece.

One week does not make a season, but the Redskins looked strong in Week 1 with a balanced running and passing attack while the defense held Arizona to just 213 total yards of offense. Indianapolis played well but turned the ball over and a lack of a running game will hurt the Colts in the long run. Washington appears to have fared well with signing two veterans in Alex Smith and Adrian Peterson. Final Score Prediction, Washington Redskins win and cover ATS 27-17.
