Chiefs at Steelers 9/16/18 - NFL Picks & Predictions

The Kansas City Chiefs hit the road in Week 2 to play the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA. The Chiefs won their season opener defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 38-28 as Tyreek Hill thrilled fans scoring three touchdowns including a 91-yard punt return. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdown passes against the Chargers in the 10-point win.

Pittsburgh ended its opening game with a 21-21 tie with the Cleveland Browns. The game was played in driving rain making it hard to both run and pass the ball. The Steelers squandered a 14-point fourth quarter lead and kicker Chris Boswell missed a 42-yard field goal late in overtime. Pittsburgh turned the ball over six times including a late strip of the ball that set up a late field goal attempt by the Browns that Pittsburgh blocked with 9 seconds remaining. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has 256 yards passing and 4 touchdowns after Week 1. The leading rusher is Kareem Hunt with 49 yards. Tyreek Hill is the leading receiver after Week 1 with 169 yards and two touchdowns. Anthony Sherman caught just one pass but it was for a touchdown, while De’Anthony Thomas also had one touchdown reception. Anthony Hitchens leads the Chiefs in tackles with 15, while Dee Ford is the sacks leader with 1.0.

In Week 1, Ben Roethlisberger threw for 335 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. James Conner is the leading rusher with 135 yards and two touchdowns, while JuJu Smith-Schuster led the Steelers in receiving with 119 yards. Antonio Brown has 93 yard receiving and one touchdown. Vince Williams leads the Steelers in tackles with 12, while T.J. Watt is the sacks leader with 4.0.

The Steelers will be hot under the collar after squandering a 14-point lead late to the Browns and then missing a 42-yard field goal in OT. Kansas City looked strong against the Chargers, but will face a Pittsburgh defense that is rounding into form and remember, the Chargers played without top pass rusher Joey Bosa and that made life easier for Patrick Mahomes in the pocket and against the Steelers, Mahomes will not have that luxury. Final Score Prediction, Pittsburgh Steelers win and cover ATS 28-21.
