Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks 8/18/22 - NFL Preseason Picks & Predictions

The week two NFL preseason schedule will kick-off with a Thursday matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks from Lumen Field. The Bears turned to new head coach Matt Eberfuls to fix a team that finished with a 6-11 record in 2021. The number one priority for Eberflus and his staff will be developing second-year QB Justin Fields into an elite player.

On Saturday, Fields and the first team offense failed to manage any points during the first half of a 19-14 home victory versus Kansas City. QB Trevor Siemian threw two touchdown passes in the third quarter for the Bears, who rallied from a 14-0 halftime deficit.

The Seattle Seahawks enter the 2022 season without QB Russell Wilson leading the offense for the first time in a decade. Head coach Pete Carroll will be using the preseason to determine if Geno Smith or Drew Lock will be Wilson’s replacement. Look for the Seahawks, who drafted RB Kenneth Walker in the second round, to move back to a run-first offense.

In their preseason opener, Seattle surrendered a 24-yard touchdown pass with three seconds remaining during a 32-25 road loss against Pittsburgh. Lock completed 11 of 15 passes for 105 yards and two scores in defeat.

Seattle RB Rashaad Penny is dealing with a groin injury and his status for this game is uncertain. The Bears will want to get Fields more reps in this game and the Seahawks will likely give plenty of time to their two quarterbacks. Take the over. Final Score Prediction, Seattle Seahawks win 27-24.
